One of the most exciting things about the Minecraft server is the ability to optimize it past what Vanilla Minecraft can offer. One of the best ways to do this is using plugins. MCNAMES Plugins do not need to be installed only on the server. Mods must be installed on both Minecraft client and server.
How do I install plugins automatically
Create your server and ensure that you select Minecraft Java Edition. Once that's done click on the Manage button for your Minecraft server instance:
Select Configuration:
From there choose Server settings, the option you are looking for is Server type, there you will be able to choose from a variety of custom server types:
You will need to choose from the following to install plugins:
Type of server
Modified vanilla Minecraft server with the Bukkit API (Application Program Interface) built into it. Bukkit API is what Bukkit plugins use for interaction with the server
Spigot
Modified Minecraft server using CraftBukkit, which offers additional performance optimizations, configuration options and features while remaining compatible with all plugins and consistent to Vanilla Minecraft game mechanics
PaperMC*
Spigot Minecraft Server high-performance fork that aims at fixing gameplay and mechanics inconsistencies, as well as improving performance. The paper contains many features, bug fixes, exploit preventives, and major performance improvement not found in Spigot.
* Recommended for users who want to get the best performance from their current plan without sacrificing functionality or server features
After you have chosen your preferred server type, click the Download / Upd button. The download will begin:
After the download is completed, your server should be ready to install plugins. Navigate back to your Instance section and select Plugins:
Now, select a plugin and click Install.
If you have any questions about the plugin, or if you need more information, click on the Discussion button.
After installing the plugins, you will need your server to load their configuration.
How to manually install plugins
You can always manually install your plugin if you don't see it in the list.
You first need to download the actual plugin from our official plugin page. It should come in.jar format. Once you're done downloading the plugin, open File Manager.
Double-click to open the plugins folder
The last step is to drag-drop the plugin from your computer onto the server instance. Make sure the plugin is uploaded to the Plugins folder. Once uploading is done, restart your server
It's worth noting that no matter which method you use for plugins installation, all of them will be stored in Plugins folder along with their configuration.
How can I verify that plugins are working?
After restarting your server open your Server console
You can also write plugins
This will display the list of plugins currently installed on your server. :
This command can also be used while logged on to the server. However you should add a slash to the command while in-game. It should look like this: /plugins
